Purging Plugs for Aluminum Refining
By introducing purging plus into Aluminum refining operation, good hydrogen and impurity exclusion effect can be achieved. Hydrogen content of molten Aluminum decreases from 0.35ml/100gAl to 0.15ml/100gAl below, so that the porosity of the final product decreases significantly, and the quality of the Aluminum product is improved. Meanwhile, purging plug makes the temperature and composition of molten Aluminum uniformed, refining time shortened, heat efficiency enhanced, slag reduced and labor intensity eased.
The purging plug developed by LIRR does not react with the chemically active molten Aluminum due to the good chemical stability. The large wetting angle between purging plug and molten Aluminum makes the molten Aluminum infiltration difficult. In addition, the plugs both have good gas permeability and molten metal infiltration resistance because of the special design of gas channel.
